Riu Cancun Pinpointed as My Next Possible Holiday Destination

For years, the golden standard of a proper getaway was simple: pack our suitcases, grab our passports, and head off with my Uncle Nigel to Paloma Club Sultan. We had our planning down to an art form. But as the years rolled on, the resort underwent a dramatic transformation. It rebranded itself as, "Club Marvy", tacked five shiny stars onto its name, and rocketed its prices straight into the stratosphere. It’s a stunning place, no doubt, but my wallet has officially called a truce. It is time for a change of horizon. Maybe, if we aim at a slightly lower price than what is now presented. In my search for a new holiday haven, I’ve stumbled across a place that should feel like a totally different world, yet promises everything a great holiday should be. Enter the Riu Cancun . A.I. Image I’ve never set foot in Mexico before, but just looking at the pictures of this place gets the anticipation building. First off, the location looks unbeatable. It sits right on a stretch of ...

A.I. Rejects My Bank Statements

There is a specific, modern kind of purgatory reserved for those of us navigating the gears of the Department for Work and Pensions or merely receiving mental health support. It is a landscape defined by blue-light headaches, the silent judgment of 'to-do' lists, and the mechanical chirping of apps that are supposed to make life easier but often just act as high-tech gatekeepers. Lately, my life has been a series of, "reviews". First, the Universal Credit claim review—a process that feels less like a check-in and more like a digital colonoscopy. Then, the job coaching appointments. There’s a certain performance art to these meetings; we both know I’ve been through the ringer before, and we both know the script, yet we play our parts with weary diligence. It was through this cycle that I was introduced to the 'Job and Talent' app. Un-necessarily, it’s the future: streamlined, efficient, and direct, although asking for a lot. I was aiming for a role at the J...

My Website Idea Has Ended up Kind of Gay Looking

For a brief, glorious moment a couple of weeks ago, I was convinced I had cracked the code of personal web design. My creation lived at evesunfilte.red . The domain name alone felt like a triumph—a sly, slick domain hack that rolled off the tongue. But the real masterpiece was the aesthetic. I had spent a couple of hours tweaking a WordPress theme that looked like WinMX. For anyone who didn't spend their early-2000s late nights illegally downloading MP3s over dial-up or early broadband, WinMX was the king of dark-mode peer-to-peer file sharing. It was all deep, moody greens, metallic silver headers, compact fonts, and an unmistakable sense of low-fi, underground cool. My site looked sleek, retro, and aggressively authentic. There was only one tiny, soul-crushing problem: the rest of the internet refused to acknowledge its existence. Somewhere deep in the code—whether it was a rogue setting, a stubborn TLD quirk, or a broken plugin—the site had declared total war on the outsid...

I’ve Lost One of the CNAMEs to This Site

There is a very specific, low-grade terror known only to people who tinker with DNS settings. It starts with innocent ambition. You aren't trying to re-write the source code of the internet; you just want your website to look professional. You want a visitor to type myawesomesite.com—nice, clean, naked—instead of dragging the cumbersome baggage of www.myawesomesite.com everywhere they go. So, you log into your domain registrar. You start moving the digital furniture around. You add A-records here and there, and you fiddle with the CNAMEs—those invisible digital signposts that tell the sprawling infrastructure of the web, “Hey, when someone asks for this address, point them over yonder”. Somewhere in the middle of this arcane ritual, amidst a sea of alpha-numeric strings that look like they were generated by an angry cat walking across a keyboard, it happens. A checkbox gets unchecked. DNS records get deleted as the idea to temporarily re-direct to another one of your sites em...

My Website for Ramblings is Launched

So, the secret is out: jordypops.me is officially live! I’ll be honest, I had my heart set on the .com domain, but apparently, someone else beat me to the punch and snagged it. It’s sitting out there in the digital ether, sort of empty. So, I pivoted to .me. Honestly? I like it better. It feels personal—like a digital living room where I’ve finally kicked my shoes off and started rambling. A quick heads-up for the tech-averse: Please just type "www.jordypops.me" directly for now. I expect, my hosting gods will be a bit finicky, and if you don't add the 'www.' prefix, sometimes the server could get a little confused and throws a digital tantrum (an error page). You may have to add 'www.': if that predicament occurs like I'm expecting it to. This will only last for a short time until I can re-master configuring it properly. Now, you might be thinking, "Jordan, wait—didn’t you have that other site? The fancy one?" Yes! jordaneves.com is...
